Gaston E. “Gus” Cannon, 77, of Reading, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 10, 2018 in West Chester. He was the loving husband of Ollie M. (Terrell) Cannon of Reading.

Born in Greensboro, AL on August 26, 1941, the youngest son of the late Tom, Jr. and Sara (Large) Cannon. He was of the Baptist faith. Gus graduated with his Master’s Degree from Alabama State University.

He was the owner and operator of Cannon Laboratories for 15 years until he retired. Prior to that he was employed with K & G Laboratory, Sandoz Pharmaceuticals and Food and Drug Research.

In addition to his wife, Ollie, Gus leaves behind to cherish his memory, a son, Larry Cannon of Little Rock, Ark; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a brother, Doc Cannon, Sr. and his wife, Barbara Jean of Evanston, Ill.

Gus is predeceased by a son, Eugene G. Cannon; a sister, Susie (Cannon) Borden and five brothers: Cleophus, Eddie, Woody, James and Roger Cannon.

Home Going Services for Gus will be Monday, September 17, 2018 at 10am in Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. A viewing will be in the funeral home on Monday from 9am to 10am. Gus will be laid to rest in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
