Born in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Joseph S. and Olive M. (Lins) Weber
He was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth H. (Hutchinson) Weber on January 5, 2000 and his second wife Gloria (Palladino) Schmeck on February 1, 2021.
He was a graduate of Lewistown High School and graduated with an Industrial Engineering degree from Penn State University. A veteran of World War II, he served as an officer in the Army Air Corps.
He started working at Carpenter Technology as an Industrial Engineer in 1949. Graduating through the ranks of Assistant to Production Engineer, Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent of Production Control, Manager of Production Control, Steel Division, Manager of Production Scheduling and Planning and ended his career at Carpenter as the Manager of Finishing Operations Planning after working 36 years until retiring in 1985.
He was a member of Holy Cross United Methodist Church, Reading. A “Class Act”, Joe was an avid collector of model trains and model airplanes. Two of his true passions were golfing and watching a Penn State Football game.
He is survived by his two daughters, Pamela A. Weber of Reading and Amy E, wife of William Hafer of Reiffton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rebekah, Anthony, Lauren, Sarah and Kara as well as 4 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Auman’s, Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading, (Exeter Township), Pa 19606 on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 4:00 pm. Friends and family may view from 2:00-4:00 pm. Interment in Forest Hills Memorial Park will be private.
