

Joyce was born in Reading on Dec. 27, 1933, a daughter of the late Robert and Florence (Haas) Quaintance.
She was a technical writer for the former Gilbert Associates, a hostess/server at the former White Bear and Post Office inns and held many other office positions.
In her later years, she started creating soft face hand-painted dolls.
Her "Dolls by Joyce," notably period dolls made for the Joanna Furnace/ Hay Creek festivals, were recognized and collected by many.
Joyce is also survived by sons, Robert, husband of Diane (Gaylor) Ferrara, Birdsboro; and Christopher Ferrara, Boyertown; a daughter, Joann Wrentzel, Muhlenberg Township; and a brother, Robert, husband of Shirley Quaintance, Stony Creek Mills.
Also surviving are a sister, Joan, wife of Eastman Weaver, Birdsboro; 13 grandchildren: Janelle Ferrara; Samantha (Gatto) Wiley; Rachel Gatto; Shenan, Alex, ShyAnn and Montana Ferrara; Nathan, Matthew, Jeremy and Madison Ferrara; and Justin and Jennifer Wrentzel; four great-grandchildren: Jordan Hoff-master, Bowen and Jasmine Wiley and Joel Rodriguez; and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was predeceased by a brother, Harold (Hoppy) Quaintance, and her beloved aunt, Esther Meetish.
Memorial services will be Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at 7 p.m. in the Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reiffton. A gathering of relatives and friends will be Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
