He was predeceased by his first wife, Emma (Quade) Miller in 1973 and his second wife Mary L. (Kisslinger) Miller in 2013.
Born in Reinerton, he was a son of the late Charles X. and Beulah M. (Snyder) Miller.
He was employed for 40 years as a welder at the former Parrish Press Steel, Reading until retiring in 1989.
He attended St. Mark’s United Church of Christ, Reading. He was an exceptionally proud Navy veteran of World War II, having served on the Destroyer Escort Greenwood in the South Pacific Theater.
He is survived by his son Russell C. Miller (Faye) of Eswatini, South Africa and his daughter, Barbara L. widow of Dennis L. Fletcher of Reading. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Aimee Baker (David) and Rebecca Scardino (Matt) both of Tomah, Wisconsin. Also Cynthia Bitting (Frank) of Shillington, Gregory A. Fletcher (Angelina Frazzini) of Fleetwood and Christopher L. Fletcher (Denise) of Leesport. Also surviving are his great grandchildren Mikaela Baker, Hannah Baker, Stryder Bitting, Colton Fletcher and Talyn Fletcher. Step great granddaughter Taylor Bishop (John), step great, great grandchildren Aiden and Aubree Skye. He is also survived by his brother Lyle F. Miller. He was predeceased by his siblings Karl Miller and Carol Ann Williams.
He will also be truly missed by his extended family at Mission Barbeque, Wyomissing who held such a special place in Russell’s life
Services will be held in Auman’s, Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading, Pa. (Exeter Township) on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 6:00 pm. Friends and family may view from 4:00-6:00 pm. Interment in Forest Hills Memorial Park will be private at the family’s convenience.
