Shirley A. Phillips

She was the devoted and loving wife of Charles John Phillips, whom she married on July 6, 1963 in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Reading. Charles sadly, passed away on April 30, 2013.

Born on September 3, 1938 in Birdsboro, she was the only child of William James and Mary Ann (Keinard) Beidler.

She was a graduate of Birdsboro High School.

Shirley was employed with Berk’s Heim as an LPN for 20 plus years before retiring in 1988. Her really joy was raising her loving family.

She was last a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons: Samuel Charles Phillips and his wife, Donna Lynne (Donmoyer) of West Lawn and Jamie Lynn Phillips of Fleetwood and two grandsons: Samuel Charles, II and Robert James Phillips of West Lawn.

Also surviving are two brothers-in-law: James Phillips and Earl Phillips and his wife, Bernice.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Charles; Shirley is predeceased by a brother-in-law, Paul Phillips and a sister-in-law, Doris Phillips.

Funeral services for Shirley will be in West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Woodside Ave., Reading on Tuesday, October 15 at 1:00pm. Burial will be in St. Paul’s UM Geigertown Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, October 14, 2013 from 7 to 9:00pm in Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading. An additional viewing will be on Tuesday in West Lawn UM Church from 12pm until the time of service.
