Susan Kay Dietrich

Susan Kay (Sallada) Dietrich, 57, of Lower Alsace Twp., passed away after a short battle with cancer on Saturday, August 27, 2016 in Penn State Health- St. Joseph. She was the loving wife of Ronald D. Dietrich. Born in Reading on September 22, 1958, a daughter of the late Edward and Jeanette (Reitstetter) Sallada.

Susan was employed last with the Loomis Co. as a cleaner for eight years and prior to that, she was with Bortz Chocolate Co. as a candy packer for 10 years.

For the past year, Susan and her husband, Ronald attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God.

She enjoyed reading and watching the Philadelphia Eagles. Her favorite thing to do was babysit and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandson.

In addition to her husband, Ronald, Susan is survived by two daughters, Crystal J. (Sallada) Shaffer and her husband, Shawn, of Shillington, and Tiffany L. (Sallada) Shaffer and her husband, Christopher, of Lower Alsace Twp.; four grandchildren: Dylon M., Cody T., Chyanne N. and Jared L.; and a great-grandson, Jayden M. Also surviving are three sisters: Deborah, Patricia and Nancy; and a brother, Gerald.

Susan is predeceased by a brother, Harold.

Services for Susan will be at 12 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016 in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Friday from 10 to 12 p.m. Susan will be laid to rest in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading.

Memorial donations may be made to the Auman Funeral Homes to help defray funeral expenses.
