She was born in Reading on January 31, 1926 a daughter of the late Efthimios and Helen (Kikirikou) Hatza. Victoria was a member of Sts Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church and a member of St. Xenia Philoptochos Society. As gracious as she was beautiful (some might even say glamorous), Victoria's greatest gift was her immense capacity for love. She became a kind of second mother for many children, those who were related and just the kids in the neighborhood who were drawn to her kindness and generosity. Her home became a gathering place to watch television and celebrate holidays. That said, she was a gourmet cook. Raised in a Greek home where she mastered the art of that nation's cuisine, she later learned how to prepare Italian food after marrying the love of her life, Nicholas "Bill" Porcaro. She and her sister, Lula, made homemade pasta in Victoria's tiny kitchen for New Year's Day dinner in an era when no one would have thought of doing such a thing. And her Greek pastries were unparalleled. The Porcaro front porch on summer evenings was a place where people walking by were invited to sit and share a beverage and a little harmless gossip. And her warm laugh came from the heart. Indeed, her sense of humor was infectious. She loved pretty clothes, big hats and stylish shoes. But most of all, she loved her family and her friends, and she never let them forget it.
She is survived by her 4 children; Elaine R (Porcaro) and her husband Edward Haggerty of Ocean Pines, MD., Nicholas W. Jr., and his wife Marian Porcaro of Perry Township, Michele Porcaro-O'Brien and her husband Dr. Christopher O'Brien of Miami, FL., Dean T. and his wife Denise Porcaro of Muhlenberg, 6 grandchildren; Jeremy N. Murley, Nicholas W. (Niko) Porcaro III, Alexa D. Vanino, Christopher J. Porcaro, Dante W. Porcaro, Victoria G. Porcaro, 3 great grandchildren; Chace Murley, Andrik Vanino, and Alana Vanino. Also surviving is her sister, Lula Dastra of Whitfield and her brother, Augustus Hatzas of Mohnton.
