It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden and heartbreaking passing of Allan Aubrey Loken, Jr., who passed away during the early morning on March 19, 2026, at the age of 64.
Born on December 8, 1961, in Spokane, Washington, Allan was the son of his father, Allan Aubrey Loken, and mother, Elnora Farnam Loken. He grew up with a practical mindset and a straightforward nature that would define him throughout his life.
Allan graduated from Washington State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He went on to build a solid and respected career, working at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and later spending 17 years as a mechanical engineer at Boeing in Renton.
As a lifelong resident of the Puget Sound region, Allan was known to his close family and friends as “Loke.” He was a man who loved his family deeply and possessed a wonderfully creative mind. He was never shy about expressing his love. He always said, “I love you,” played games and hobbies with his family, showing his care in both words and actions.
Allan could almost always be found tinkering with mechanical objects, building new projects in his garage or bedroom, or hunting across Washington for unique antiques to add to his collection. He was a hands-on, down-to-earth person who could fix just about anything. He spoke his mind honestly and directly, without pretense, and his steady presence made him someone people could rely on.
He also took heavy pride in his yard and garden, finding great satisfaction in caring for his home and surroundings. He was always thinking of new projects to add to his house and never letting one go to waste.
Allan touched the lives of many, not just in the Puget Sound region, but also across Washington, and even Kenya, sending boxes of gifts and essentials to help his friend and their community in Africa. He is survived by his wife, Yulan Loken, and his two sons, Leif Loken and Neil Loken. He leaves behind not only memories, but also the lasting imprint of a life lived with practicality, creativity, and love.
His passing comes far too soon, and he will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park Funeral Home, 350 Monroe Ave Ne, Renton, WA 98056, US, on April 6, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm.
