It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Alta Elizabeth Daniel on October 16, 2025, after years of failing health. Despite her pain, Alta never lost her fighting spirit and fierce determination to live life on her own terms. She loved Hawaii, the beach, and had a profound connection to the sun, often spending hours tanning and letting its warm rays fill her with energy and joy. Alta was also a true champion of the underdog, always rooting for the team with the lowest score at sporting events, even if it meant cheering against her own child's team. She was a person who ensured no one felt left out, loved to laugh, and was always a sympathetic ear to those she cared about.
Though Alta was fond of her time in California, Washington was her true home—born in Bellingham and raising her family there since the early 1970s. She is survived by her two sons, Justin and Garrett, and by Justin’s five children: Bridget, Martin, Elayne, Rachael, and Alex, all of whom she loved dearly. Alta is also survived by the extensive circle of friends and loved ones she touched in the Federal Way and Tacoma areas. She loved you all and will be deeply missed.
