Anh Chuong was born September 9, 1929 in China. He fled the famine in China, came to Vietnam and started a family. He and his surviving wife, Chau Truong, owned a noodle house in Vietnam for more than 30 years before moving to the United States in 1995. The family business was casually known as "Hủ tiếu mì chú lùn" (translated into "Short man noodle house", referring to his short stature). He was well known for making delicious noodle dishes such as the braised duck noodle soup, pork rib noodle soup and satay rice noodle soup. He loved cooking, baking (especially the mooncakes for Autumn festival) and making DIY projects around the house. He also enjoyed reading magazines & books and studying about Eastern medicines. He made a few herbal remedies for himself and others for various health issues.
He passed away peacefully with family beside him on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 10:15AM. He is survived by his wife, 7 children and their spouses, 17 grandchildren, 4 grandchildren-in-laws, and 5 great-grandchildren.
