Mom was born in Chaozhou, Guandong China on January 6, 1933 and passed peacefully in her sleep on August 16th 2011 with family and friends by her side after losing her battle against Cancer. She was diagnosed with Cancer in November 2010, and underwent Chemo Therapy as well as Radiation Therapy until July 2011
Mom was a loving and caring person to her children, grandchildren, relatives, friends and coworkers. She worked at January Company for over 20 years. Regardless of their age, her co-workers admirably and lovingly referred to her as “Mommy” as they felt she treated them as her own. She was loved by all because she had a big heart, and cared for others, putting their needs before her own. Mom was dedicated and a hard worker until she was unfortunately forced into retirement for medical reasons. After retirement Mom set out to find new hobbies, her favorite though, was gardening. She would spend hours in her yard planting flowers, vegetables, and melons. It brought pride, happiness and a smile to Mom when friends and neighbors paid compliment to her beautiful garden. She also loved traveling when possible, her favorite places to visit being Hawaii and Vietnam. Mom occasionally enjoyed socializing with her friends and shopping, but always kept herself busy so as to escape boredom.
She is survived by her Son: Hao Lam; Daughters: Don Lam, Tara Lam, Krystal Chan and Penny Dang-Lee, Son In-Laws: Trien Mien Ly, Patrick Chan and Poy Lee; Grandchildren: Denny Ly, Brian Lam, Joshua and Cassandra Chan.
. We are sad to see her leave us, but she lived a full life. It is time for Mom to begin a new journey.
The family would like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation for all the love, kindness, thoughtful gestures and support during this bereavement. Thank you all for keeping us in your thoughts.
Arrangements under the direction of Greenwood Funeral Home, Renton, WA.
