

Arthur Lee Shaw (85) was born on Thursday, April 27, 1939, to Merle E. and Doris C. (Dill) Shaw at Harborview Hospital in Seattle, WA. He died April 8, 2025, on Mercer Island, WA, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Raised in May Valley, WA, he attended Kennydale School as a boy. His parents moved to Kennydale in 1953, where they lived in a lakefront home, hosting many future family gatherings where lasting memories would be forged. That summer, he was taught to swim at Kennydale Beach by movie legend Clint Eastwood, who was serving as a lifeguard.
He met the love of his life, Linda Mae Brooks, while attending Renton High School, and they were wed on December 28, 1956, in Kennydale, WA. They both graduated fr om Renton High School in 1957. Moving to Newcastle in 1962, the marriage produced 4 children.
Arthur started work as a painter for Kenworth, but most of his career was spent managing the repair shop at Blanchard Electric in Seattle, where he was well known within the industry. After successfully surviving prostate cancer, he finished his career working in sales for Romaine Electric until his retirement in 2004.
His earlier accomplishments included countless hours as a member of the crew supporting drag racing legend Jerry Ruth back in the late 60s and early 70s. Sneaking his children past the front gates on local race days was a special treat. He was also an avid hunter and provider.
His retirement hobbies included travelling, repairing and maintaining his cars, his house and yard, along with keeping track of the species of birds that came to visit his many feeders. He was a social individual and was known to many neighbors as sitting in his garage where you could pull up and always have a long conversation.
He is survived by his wife Linda, sister Patricia (Arthalony) and children, Stan, Rick, Mike and Cheryl (Capps), He has 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 25th, at Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton, WA. Please reach out to the family for more information and the times of services.
