

Beverly Sheryl Scott (nèe Robinson) was born to William Sylvester and Thelma Mae Robinson (nèe Heard) on September 26, 1951, in Gary, Indiana. Graduating from Tolleston High School in 1969, Beverly went on to receive a diploma from the Lear Siegler Institute in Computer Programming in 1970. Beverly married junior high sweetheart Jesse James Scott on September 5, 1970, at St. Timothy Church. Having worked for the City of Gary for seven years, Beverly relocated with her young family to Seattle, Washington in 1978. Hired on the spot by the Boeing Company, Beverly served faithfully for 23 years until retirement as a Staff Analysis/Training Coordinator for the Military Aircraft & Missile Systems Group, having worked on aeronautical programs such as AWACS (E-3 Sentry), DarkStar (RQ-3), and the Raptor (F-22).
Known for her beautiful personality and loyalty to family and friends, Beverly was a small business owner (Tia’s Boutique and 4Scott’s Creative Design), skier, dancer, personal shopper, decorator, and mixologist, having perfected the perfect Lemon Drop Martini. She was an active participant in the Seattle Chapter of the NAACP, the Democratic Party of Seattle, and Rainier Beach and Renton High School PTA’s. She was a co-founder of a black investment group T.U.F.F (The United Financial Family) and would often be seen on the campus of Howard University visiting her children. Lastly, Beverly was a dedicated daughter, having cared for her own mother who also succumbed to Alzheimer's.
On September 11, 2023, Beverly, a breast cancer survivor, passed away peacefully at home with her family after a decade long battle with Alzheimer’s. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years Jesse James Scott, daughter Tianna Shanaè Scott, son Montaè Dupree Scott, granddaughter Tyler Sloane Scott, sister in bond Sheila Bunch (nèe Griffin), brothers William Robinson, and Floyd Griffin, and several cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral arrangements will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Greenwood Memorial Park. Service to start at Noon followed by interment. A small reception will be held onsite immediately after.
