Carol Joanne Villegas was born July 8, 1949 to Raul Roy Villegas of Ancho, New Mexico and wife, Louise Marie Miller of Flathead Reservation, Montana. Carol was the only daughter of Raul and Louise among five brothers.
As a teenage girl, Carol gave birth to a son in Yakima named Mark. In time, she married Henry Raymond Sanders and had three more children: Henry Raymond, Audrey Marie, and Gina Renee.
Carol later married Emmitt Broadus of Detroit, Michigan, and together they had three daughters Melinda Iwalani, Carmen Juliette, and Monica Evette who was named after Carol’s youngest sister Monica Villalovos.
Carol became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and loved God's word, influencing her daughters to have faith in Him to this day.
Carol worked at the beautiful boutique Hotel Sorrento on Madison Ave as housekeeping supervisor. Her daughters can attest to knowing what “hospital corners” are when making a proper bed!
Motivated by sheer love, Carol resigned from the Sorrento to raise, love, and care for her grandchildren: Meagan Renee, Lawrence Sexton & Carlos Antonio.
Carol was the sweetest soul a person could ever know. She shared everything she had, opened her doors to anyone in need, and demonstrated strength through every challenge she faced.
Sadly, our sweet Carol succumbed to kidney disease on the morning of October 28th, at Kline Hospice in Seward Park; overlooking Lake Washington where she and her children spent many summers on Granpa John's boat.
She will be forever loved.
