Carrie “C.C.” Mae Hatten was born in Jonesville, LA on July 13, 1949 to Willie Hatten Sr. and Patience Matthews. Carrie was raised in Seattle, WA to become a fixture in the neighborhood. She was a hardworking single-mom who enforced good manners, openly disciplining neighborhood kids. Carrie did not hesitate to tell you what was on her mind, whether right or wrong. She would always let you know how she felt. Carrie enjoyed spending her weekends playing BINGO with her dear friend Myrtis (Gene) Williams. She also loved watching boxing with both of her sons. Although she would never admit it, she faithfully watched “Love & Hip-Hop” and “Black Ink Crew” or as she called it “ratchet T.V.”. She loved cooking and baking and always had a cake on the table.
Proceeded in death by father Willie Hatten Sr., mother Patience Ellis, son Shannon Hatten Sr., and brother Raymond Matthews.
On January 11, 2019 she leaves behind to mourn, her youngest son Shea Hatton and his girlfriend Rebecca Johnson. Along with sisters Daisy, Joyce and Karen Hatten of Phoenix, AZ, Margarete and her husband Ronnie Parker of Roswell, NM. Brothers Willie Hatten Jr. of Phoenix, AZ and Charles Matthews of Seattle, WA. Grandchildren Shannon Jr. (Tank) and Shantia Hatten, great grandson Shannon (Dudabug) Hatten III and god sister Veronica Abram, all of Seattle, WA. And a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
