Bud was born in Seattle General Hospital, March 30, 1935 to Hazel and Dean McCormick.
He got his name Buddy from his grandfather John Butler because he was grandpa’s “Best Buddy”.
Bud attended Van Asselt Elementary, Cleveland High (Class of 1953) and the University of Washington.
He married his high school sweetheart Janice Dawley on July 7, 1956.
Together they had three sons; Howard, Kevin and Brian.
Bud enjoyed the Sun River and Reno every summer for over 30 years to play golf with a group of great friends. Bud also enjoyed fishing and bowling. He was offered a chance to go Pro carrying an average of 220.
Bud worked at Continental Can during College and went to work for the City of Seattle in Survey then with the Construction Section and finally a Supervisor in Drainage and Waste Water. His career spanned 42 ½ years.
Bud is survived by his wife Janice; sons Howard (Duree), Kevin and Brian (Robin).
Grandsons Shane (Liz), Cody (Heather), Ryan (Kyrie), Joshua, granddaughters Danielle and Erika, great grandsons Mason, Eric, Charley, Aidan, Jadeon, and James. Great granddaughter Autumn. Bud is predeceased by grandson Sean.
After years of living with Alzheimer’s Disease Bud passed peacefully on March 26, 2017. In lieu of flowers contributions to Alzheimer’s Association or Children’s Hospital.
Our family owes Loren and Pasquelina Leetch for their loving care of our beloved Bud. We can’t thank them enough.
