Dao passed away in Positano, Italy. Traveling and exploring the world were among his greatest passions, and he left this world doing what he loved most—discovering new places and experiences. He was surrounded by his beloved wife and close friends.
Dao was born on May 27, 1963, in Saigon, Vietnam. At the age of 18, he faced the prospect of mandatory enlistment into the communist army. Determined to seek freedom, Dao courageously escaped Vietnam on a small wooden boat without his parents—one of many Vietnamese refugees who made this perilous journey during the 1980s.
He later immigrated to Vancouver, Washington, where he built a new life. Dao graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and went on to work at Boeing, then later at AT&T for 22 years. He was admired for his dedication, expertise, and kindness. Many of his coworkers described him as one of the best people they had worked with. His friends remember him for his gentle nature, warm hospitality, positive attitude, and lively sense of humor.
Dao lived a life marked by curiosity, kindness, laughter, and devotion to his family. He was a loving husband to Trang Le for 33 years and a devoted father to Dathan Le and Ryan Le. His adventurous spirit led him to explore countless destinations across the globe, embracing each culture with enthusiasm and gratitude.
To all who knew him, Dao will be remembered for his infectious laugh, joyful spirit, and generous heart.
