Della Florence Dragseth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Della was born June 29, 1931 in South Dakota. As a child, Della and her parents made a Depression-era migration to Bellingham, Washington seeking opportunity. She graduated from Bellingham High School in 1950 and shortly after married Rolf Dragseth. They lived for several years in Port Townsend, Washington where Rolf had his first teaching job and Della worked as a telephone operator. They then moved to Renton where Della and Rolf happily raised three children: Steffen, Ann and Tom. Della worked as a telephone operator at Group Health Hospital in Seattle, retiring in 1986 after many years. Della loved to garden, and had the most beautiful dahlias in her yard and flowering cactus on her deck. Della also loved to camp, and made incredible meals in her RV, once going all the way to Alaska and back. She was a wonderful cook, and loved to make big meals for her family; her Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners are legendary. Della especially loved Christmas: the decorating, the presents, the baking and the family all together. Della always made Christmas very special for her family.
On April 12, 2026 Della passed away at the age of 94 after a long and beautiful life. She was preceded in death by her husband Rolf and her son Tom. Della is survived by her children Steffen (Olga) and Ann (Todd); grandchildren Thomas (Chelsea), Daniel, and Christine (Peter); and great grandchildren Cala, Wilder and Graham. Della will be remembered as a fun mom and grandma who deeply cared for her family and always supported them. As a celebration of her life, a service will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park Funeral Home in Renton on Wednesday, April 29th at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
She will always be in our hearts.
