Donna Marie Peck

She was born on August 26, 1947, in Rockville Centre, New York, to John “Jack” Joseph Murray and Margaret Mary O’Leary.

After graduating from St. Agnes Cathedral School in 1965, Donna embarked on a lifelong adventure and lived in New York, California, Idaho, Alaska, Maryland, England, Hawaii, and Washington. She married Jeffrey Thomas Peck on February 17, 1978, in Juneau, Alaska, and actively supported her husband during his service in the Coast Guard.

During their tour in England, she formed a needlework group for the neighbors and taught them how to design and stitch. She also introduced them and their families to Halloween and a host of delicious American recipes. While in Hawaii, she was very active with her kids’ schools, both as a substitute teacher and member of the Parent Teacher Association. She was Wives’ Club president during their tours in Honolulu and Seattle, and in 1996, Donna was involved in the startup of a Wives’ Club-sponsored campaign to fill Christmas stockings for homeless women and children in various shelters in the Seattle area. The annual holiday tradition continues to this day.

Donna was predeceased by her parents Jack and Margaret and her sister Marge. She is survived by her husband Jeff; their children Elisa (Ed), Sandra, Brian (Leslie), and Keri (Justin); their grandchildren Cole, Brayden, and Ashton; her brother Jack; her sister Barbara; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

Donna cherished her family and found special joy in her role as nanny to her grandchildren when they were young. She will be remembered as a wonderful friend and mentor and a fabulous and fully engaged wife, mother, and grammy. She cared deeply, loved easily, and was adored by many in return. We will miss her dearly and remember with great fondness the beautiful blessing she was to us all.
