George Roberts was born and raised in Texas. In 1965, he made the pivotal move to Seattle to work for Boeing, where he would spend the next 30 years of his career. That same transformative year, he met and married Louise, his beloved wife of 60 years.
George had a lifelong passion for classic cars, particularly his 1965 Mustang Fastback, which he purchased during his move to Seattle. He lovingly renovated the vehicle and proudly displayed it at classic car shows throughout the region.
Music was another cornerstone of George's life. Over the years, he shared his musical talents with several groups, including the Boeing Concert Band, Boeing Community Band, a German Oompa Band, and the Renton Community Band.
In his final six years, George found enjoyment in the friendships and community he discovered at Merrill Gardens, where he and Louise resided.
George is survived by his wife, Louise Roberts; daughters Suzanne Simes and Charmain Torres; and grandson Kendall Simes.
A memorial service will be held at Renton Highlands Church. The date and time will be announced shortly.
