

Harry was born on October 16, 1935, in Shensi, China, to Wai and Shui Lo. Due to events surrounding WWII, he lived in multiple provinces in China but settled in Hong Kong. Harry earned his Medical Doctorate degree from the National Defense Medical Center in Taipei, Taiwan. Following his graduation, he served in the Taiwanese military. Then he came to the United States to complete a residency and fellowship training at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, WA, and in Seattle before beginning to practice medicine in Aberdeen, WA.
While in Seattle and the Aberdeen area, Harry and his former spouse, Mary, had two sons together (Derald and Garrick) whom they adored.
Dr. Harry Lo was the Pathologist for Grays Harbor Community Hospital for many years. He was certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology as well as family medicine. Harry moved to the Seattle area in 1980 and practiced family medicine in the International District on Jackson Street in Seattle for over 25 years, and later started a Medical Clinic in the Rainer Beach area, South of Seattle. He was the first medical director for Kin-On Nursing Home and served in that capacity for over 20 years. Kin On Nursing Home was the first bilingual Chinese-American catering to the unique cultural needs of Asian elders. Dr. Lo was passionate about bringing the best medical care to his community and would often make house calls for his patients with limited mobility, and he was the family physician to households with multiple generations. Dr. Lo was known to his colleagues, nurses, and patients as a compassionate, caring physician and retired from practicing medicine after over 3 decades of service.
Harry was active in the Seattle community. He served as part of the leadership team in Seattle for its Chonqqing Sister City partnership. In recent years, he was a member of the Greater Seattle Seventh Day Adventist Chinese Church. Harry was a lifelong avid outdoorsman and had a strong passion for both hunting and fishing, especially in his home state of Washington, which he shared with his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling the world and taking RV trips with friends and family. Harry had a green thumb and would spend many hours in his vegetable garden, and loved sharing the fruits of his labor with anyone who visited. He also had a special affection for his cat, Jordy.
Harry is survived by his sons, Derald (with his wife, Lynn), and Garrick (with his wife, Lisa); his grandchildren, Payton, Emma, Kate, Ryan, and Matthew; former spouse, Mary; brothers, Samuel and Wai-Sun;g and sisters, Rose and Elizabeth.
