Miss your smile and humor Uncle Hal.   Lots of Love

Dear Hal,

You and Jean were such lovely neighbors, I've enjoyed walking past your home all these years.  

When Jean "passed" I was walking by and saw all the family there, you invited me in and we (your kids and I) realized we all went to Hazen together.  

The next thing I know we (girls) were singing together and I felt like I'd known you and yours all my life.

I saw you just a week ago or so and thought you looked as dapper and happy as always. 

How I will miss you.

I will miss my Great Grandpapa now that he is in Heaven.  I liked to do jokes with him, he was good at them and I liked to play with him and get together for dinner.  I liked it when he came over to visit.  I will miss him!

Hal was a kind gentle man. I have known for fourty years. Terry his son is married to my sister. We had lots of family get togethers where we had a great time. He will be missed by all who were touched by him. Thoughts and prayers to Terry,Tim and Tony and to the grandchildren.

Hal was such a kind harted man, have wonderful memories of camping with his family when my sister married his son Terry in the 70's.  Prayers for his family as he will be missed!

Where do I start.........I have soooo many memories with Uncle Harwell. I spent summers with him and Aunt Jeannie for years.  We went camping and I am sure most everyone knows the story of Tony and I fishing at Nason Creek. He reminded me of that trip almost everytime I saw him.  I remember a trip to Leavensworth, one of the signs on the side of the road was "watch for falling rock." So Uncle Harwell told me falling rock was a little indian boy and that is how he kept me occupied for a good portion of the trip, I was looking everywhere for that little indian boy named falling rock. I love Uncle Harwell more than life itself and I am going to miss him like crazy. Him and Aunt Jeannie were a huge part of my life and I will always cherish the time I got to spend with them.  He was my second dad and I admired him and everything he did.  I love you Uncle Harwell with all my heart. My days won't be the same without you here.  I will think of you and Aunt Jeannie often.

I was saddened to hear about Hal's passing.    I worked with him for 30 years at Boeing.   We always called him Hal.  Hal was a very good mechanic and an even better lead man.  He had a good work ethic and could tell a good joke.  I should mention that he played a mean game of pinochle and also cribbage.   I cannot make the memorial Saturday, sorry Hal. You will be in my thoughts and prayers!

I'm sorry to hear of Uncle Hal's passing. I'd only had the opportunity to meet him once. Prayers go out for him and the family. It's not easy saying goodbye to a loved one. Maybe he's hanging out with my dad now.

When I was a child, can't remember exactly how old I was, but I spent a week with Harwell and Jeannie, and then, two of their three sons. It was a most wonderful time to be had. I remember going with Uncle Harwell (Jeannie always called him Hal, but, to me, he was always Uncle Harwell) down the road from their house to get water from a neighboring farm, I think it was. They had no running water, for some reason. I think I recall Uncle Harwell saying that the water line hadn't been put in to their community at that time. But, I enjoyed going with my favorite uncle, and it didn't matter where. He and Jeannie made me feel like a real person, not caring that I was not their child. That, and several family reunions, made for some wonderful memories of my Uncle Harwell. I will truly miss him, but I'm looking forward to seeing him with our Lord Jesus, when He comes for us.
