James Gregory Ashcraft

Jim was born on September 20, 1938 to Charles Gregory (f) and Beulah Ruth (Pferrer) (m) Ashcraft of Seymour, IN. During his early years Jim spent his formative years split between Seymour, IN and Melbourne, FL.

Jim graduated from Melbourne High School in 1956 he went on to study Accounting at Marion College in Indianapolis, IN.

After graduating with a degree in Accounting, Jim started a career with the Boeing Company, where he enjoyed a 33 year career in Finance living in Melbourne, FL, Wichita, KS, and Kent, WA.

Jim met Maebeth (Beth) Hirtzel in Seymour, IN, and they married in 1959. Jim and Beth went on to have four children, James Gregory (Gregg) Ashcraft jr. Betty Lorena (Ashcraft) Scarbrough, Martin Paul (Marty) Ashcraft, and Timothy Vincent (Tim) Ashcraft.

In 1993, Jim retired from Boeing and spent 25 years traveling largely via RV with Beth, having residences in Palm Bay, FL and Cle Elum, WA, before finally settling in Renton, WA.

Jim was predeceased by his father, mother, and cherished stepfather Harold S. Knott. He is survived by his wife Maebeth, their four children, brother John, sister Jeanne, and brother Steve Knott.

Jim will be interred at Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton, WA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org).
