Janene Marie Sestak was born December 7, 1966 to Robert and LouAnne (Beckwith) Sestak in Rifle, CO. She lived in the Puget Sound area for 47 years, graduated from Kentridge High School and received an Administrative Assistant Associates Degree at Renton Technical College. Janene worked as a security guard and greeter with the Star Protection Agency and at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. She was dedicated to and loved her job and was admired for her kindness, diligence, and demeanor. Janene avidly supported the Renton Non-Motorized Committee and enjoyed volunteering as a docent at the Renton History Museum.
Janene was a spiritual person and had a quiet strength about her that was an inspiration to those who had the joy of knowing her. She had a tender heart and cared deeply about others. She sprinkled joy into others’ lives by sending sweet cards and bringing little gifts to those she loved. She took great pleasure in the beauty and excitement of life around her, whether it was a hike in the mountains, a walk on the beach, or a run down the ski slopes in the Cascade Mountains. She enjoyed traveling and had fond memories of taking family trips in the tent trailer across the country visiting relatives and stopping at national parks and museums along the way. She especially enjoyed going to the ocean beaches and taking the Victoria Clipper to tour the Butchart Gardens.
Janene is survived by her mother, Louanne Sestak; brother, Paul (Brandy) Sestak; sister, Michelle (Trent) Hager; seven nieces and nephews: Susan, Jessica, David, Cole Sestak and Michael, Mason and Tyler Hager. Janene was preceded in death by her father, Robert Sestak.
A celebration of Janene’s life will be held with her immediate family at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Renton History Museum at 235 Mill Ave S, Renton, WA 98057.
