Jeanene (Jeanie) C. Ruckman, a long time resident of Renton passed on to be with her Lord and Savior on August 7, 2018. Born in Long Beach California, on August 26th, 1940, to Louise and Russell Malray. She married Donald Ruckman of Tacoma WA, on October 23, 1959, after Don returned from US Army service. Jeanie and husband Don moved to Renton in Jan.1960.
During her life in Renton, Jeanie worked at Albertsons, and Sea First bank, and raised two children, Teresa and Michael. As Teresa and Mike were growing up, they became avid swimmers, and Jeanie was the ‘head cheerleader’ throughout their swimming years with Greater Renton Swim Team, and at Lindbergh High School, and later in College.
In 1992, Jeanie opened Jeanie’s Bakery, after attending Renton Vo-Tech. Her bakery baked cookies for many in the Renton and surrounding areas. Many of you will remember. She was very active in her Church, Renton Park Chapel, River of Life Fellowship, and New Life Church of Renton.
Jeanie is survived by Husband Donald of 59 years, and brother Wayne Malray, and wife Bonnie of Tacoma WA, and 2 children Teresa Dorsey and husband Joseph of Kent WA, and Michael Ruckman and wife Susan of Tamps Florida, and 3 granddaughters, Addie Ruckman, Morgan Ruckman, and Hanna Ruckman also of Tampa Florida. Both children, Teresa and Michael were born in Renton, and attended Cascade Elementary, Nelson Middle School, and Lindbergh High School (1980, 1981).
