

Joanne was the first of two daughters born to Frank Matthew Terrizzi and Mary Irene Mason in Seattle, Washington on September 7th, but five years apart, Joanne in 1941 and her sister Nancy in 1946. Joanne passed away on May 2nd, 2025. Nancy now lives in Keene, New Hampshire with her husband Paul.
Joanne attended John Muir Elementary School, Sharpless Junior High, and Franklin High School (Top Ten List and Honors Society) Class of 1959. She then attended Central Washington State College, also graduating with honors in 1963. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education, majoring in French and Spanish. She studied French at a summer program at the Sorbonne and spent a summer in Mexico to improve her Spanish. She became proficient and taught both French and Spanish for several years at Highline High School.
In 1971, Joanne married George Gray and helped raise three stepchildren: Ardis, Steve, and Debbie, and four grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way. George passed away in 1988.
Joanne married James Edwards on May 23rd, 1991. They were married for just short of 34 years.
Joanne enjoyed music and played the accordion, piano, and guitar. She also spent countless hours maintaining a beautiful yard.
Joanne was a lover of all animals, and at the time of her passing, enjoyed two cats, Mocha and Latte.
Joanne was a wonderful cook and took pleasure in baking Christmas cookies for friends and family.
Joanne was a great friend and neighbor. She enjoyed her school friendships and attended many Franklin High School Alumni events.
Joanne is survived by her husband Jim, sister Nancy Terrizzi Vincent (Paul), stepson Steve Amundson (Chris), and stepdaughter Debbie Sandberg.
