

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved friend and family member.
John Almand, aged 65, passed away on September 4, 2025 in Renton, WA. He was born on January 24, 1960 in Tallapoosa, GA,
John is preceded in death by his father, Larry Almand of Conyers, GA, Grandparents Marvin and Madge Rush of Carrollton, GA and Grandparents Frank and Pauline Almand of Conyers, GA. He is survived by his mother, Louise Rush Yates, sister and brother-in-law, Penny and Robert Kusterer, brother Keith Almand and sister Alesia Almand as well as nephews Kacyn, Kyle, and Konnor Almand and Scott (Kira) Thompson, niece KateLinn Almand (Jesse) Gregory, six great nieces, two great nephews and numerous other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory forever.
John grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma attending Grove Elementary and Shawnee High Schools. He lived in Renton, WA for 35 years. He was a member of SW Carpenters Union. John enjoyed hiking, fishing, and crabbing while living in the Pacific Northwest. Most days you could find him at the gym working out, doing Tae Kwon Do or at home shooting his bow and arrow on his property. He didn’t care to travel very much unless it was to visit family. He spent many Super Bowl weekends in Las Vegas with his sisters Alesia and Penny. When he returned to Oklahoma, he enjoyed spending time with his brother, nieces and nephews. He would sometimes venture down south to Georgia to visit with his mother, Penny, Rob and other relatives in the area.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Grand Casino Hotel Resort in the Deer Room on Sunday November 9, 2025 at 2-4pm and at Sutton’s American Grill in Carrollton, GA on Saturday November 22, 2025 at 2-4pm, where friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate John’s remarkable life.
John will be dearly missed but fondly remembered for his compassion, wisdom, and unwavering spirit. May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
