

John S. Waltosz, Command Sergeant Major (RET), was born in Kimball, South Dakota on June 4th, 1928. John went to the arms of his Lord on February 19, 2012 with family at his side. Survived by sisters, Ruth Purcell of Chehalis, and Doretta (Darrell) Koch of Yakima. He left behind children, Linda Waltosz, Jim Waltosz of Renton, Jerry Waltosz and Kim Clark of Ocean Shores, Margaret and Terry Lobb of Snoqualmie. His loving grandchildren, Stephanie and Jason Azarcon, Jesse and Chris Clark, Ryan Dove and Tyler Perkins, Lana Waltosz , Miss Grace Waltosz-Clark. Also numerous nieces, nephews and many extended family members.
John was very active in the Renton American legion-honor guard. He was a member of the Renton Eagles. He retired from the Army 88th division “red devil” with 30 years of active and reserve duty as Command Sergeant Major. He retired from the Eastside Fire and Rescue as Battalion Chief. He retired from the Boeing Company after 30+ years. John was the one of the final members of Coalfield Volunteer Fire department. After all of his years of service he went on to enjoy working in construction and his yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nell Dejong, his wife Evelyn (Hawton) Waltosz, brother and sister in law Phillip & Faye Waltosz.
