Justin was a son of Justin (Sr.) and Evelyn Broz Brown. He was born & grew up in St. Paul, MN. He graduated from Cretin High School. He attended the University of Minnesota for 2 years, then joined the U.S. Navy in 1953 as the Korean War drew to a close. He served aboard the ship “Baltimore”, and was stationed in the Philippines, Japan, and San Diego. He left the Navy in 1957.
While in the Navy, he met his future wife, JoAnne Bell, at a Seattle dance. They married in 1958. One year later, they became parents and purchased & moved into their home in Renton. By then, Justin had begun his long career at Boeing; only briefly interrupted by a 3-year re-location to St. Paul and being employed by the 3-M company. Returning to Boeing & Renton in 1966, Justin continued with the company until his retirement in 1995.
Known by his given name “Justin” in Minnesota, he was later known as “Dusty” in Washington State. But when it came to his sports teams, he was a Minnesotan to the core: he loved the Vikings & the Twins.
Justin is survived by his wife, JoAnne; one daughter, Annette; five siblings, Eileen, Jim, Kathy, Jerry, and Greg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Justin (Sr.) and Evelyn Broz Brown; as well as by his beloved grandparents, Henry and Catherine Curry Brown.
