Leotis "Buck" Jenkins

.Leotis “Buck” Jenkins was born August 31, 1938 in Cotton Valley, Louisiana to Hosey and Mozella Jenkins. He accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Wesley Grove CME Church in Cotton Valley. After moving to Seattle, Washington he joined Mt. Calvary CME Church (Sunday School Teacher, Steward); Walker Chapel AME Church (Trustee, Choir). Leotis later joined Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Baptist Church in Renton, WA. He received his formal education from Brown High School in Springhill, LA and attended Leland College in Baton Rouge, LA.

Leotis met and married the Love of his life; his wife of 47 years Barbara Ann Rice. He worked as an Armored Car Guard with Loomis Armored Car for 30 years. He was Vice President of the PTA at Whitworth Elementary School from 1974 to 1975. He played semi pro football, refereed community basketball games and he loved to fish. On Saturday, May 19, 2012 the Lord in his infinite wisdom chose to carry Leotis home to his perfect resting place. He is preceded in death by his parents Hosey and Mozella; children Gaynell, Cheryl and Bruce; brother Hosey Jr. “Sonny Boy”; sisters Ruby Jewel Crane, Phyllis Beatrice Jenkins and Vangie Stubbs. Leotis leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Barbara Jenkins; children Douglas Cepeda “Moochie”, Phyllis Priscilla “Penny”, Darrius Cedric, Sean Lemarr (Camille) and Delores (Billie); grandchildren LeDonte, Christopher, Marcus, Evan, Jalan, Elijah, Jordan and Jakobe; great grandchild ZeVon; sisters, Ella Mae Harris, Christine Smith, Ozella Gavin, Marsha Fortenberry, Chinell Malone, Marilyn Graham; brothers, Larry (Rose), Tony (Janie), Philip (Pat) and a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be held 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM Thursday, May 31st at Greenwood Funeral Home in Renton with funeral services 10:30 AM Friday June 1st at Martin Luther King Jr Memorial Baptist Church in Renton with Committal service at Greenwood Memorial Park.
