

She is preceded in death by her parents (Clara & William Gemar), her siblings (Harold, Alice & Dorothy), her son (Bill) and her loving husband of 51 years, Gus.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Robert, Chuck (Darcia) and Mark (Janis) as well as 3 generations of grandchildren – a total of 53 and counting.
Lovella’s journey began 100 years ago, in the family’s Hudson Township, North Dakota farmhouse on the 28th of October 1918.
She graduated in May of 1938 from Oakes High School – the only child in her family to graduate.
Lovella married her husband, Gus Sjolin on July 5th 1938.
At first, they owned a farm, then after a good year, they sold their farm and bought a General Store in Glover, North Dakota.
The couple were blessed with 4 sons: Robert, Bill, Chuck and Mark.
In 1950, they moved to Washington State.
Lovella went to work for the Renton Coil Springs company in 1951 – a career that lasted for the next 30 years, until she retired in 1981.
After her husband, Gus passed away in April 1989, Lovella moved to Kent and spent her extra time traveling with friends.
She was also the President of the Soroptimist Club, which is a world-wide volunteer service organization for business and professional woman who work for peace, and to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities throughout the world.
They raised money for girl’s scholarships and the work Lovella did with the Soroptimist Club was something she was rightfully very proud of.
Lovella had a very positive personality – always upbeat and uplifting. She was loving and caring and she will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.
