Marge Wicks passed away on May 28th at Kennydale Golden Years Family Home in Renton. She was 93 years old. Marge was born on September 20th, 1932, in Butte, Montana to Fred and Mary Werle. Marge graduated from Franklin High School in 1950.
She married Bob Wicks in 1952 after making their home in Renton.
Marge began her career at Rainier Beach Medical Center working with Dr. Braile serving the community. She later worked for Group Health in medical records until she retired in 1997.
Bob and Marge moved to their summer home in Quincy, Washington (Sunland Estates), in 1997. Marge was very involved in the community during her time in Quincy. She started a “Bingo Night” on Thursdays, at the George Community Hall for the folks of George. Everyone in town showed up for the fun.
She had a tremendous love for all animals, which led her to volunteer numerous hours at the Quincy Animal Shelter caring for and finding homes for cats and dogs.
Marge moved back to Renton after Bob passed in 2014 and was able to live independently at Merrill Gardens (Renton) for 11 years to be closer to her family and was involved in their community. She was an ambassador to new tenants, a friend to everyone, and could be found every day at 8:00am riding her stationary bike.
Marge was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. Anyone that knew her always had nice things to say about her. She had the most beautiful blue eyes and had a beautiful smile.
She is survived by her son, Bruce; daughter-in-law Sharon; grandson Jason; great-granddaughters Cheyenne, Hailey and sister Mary Jo Schwenzer; and nephews Paul (Michelle), Peter, Patrick (Amy) Luther.
She is going to be missed dearly, but she will be in our hearts and loved forever.
At her request, no service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please make a donation to ASPCA in her name.
