Marvin was born May 31, 1947, in Murray City, Ohio to Jefferson Luther and Lovetta Alma Wright. He was the youngest of seven children born to Jefferson and Lovetta. He was raised in Goose Run, Ohio.
Marvin served 21 years of active duty in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1996. After that he worked for the Boeing Company as an aerospace inspector. He retired in 2001 to a life of leisure and travel. When his wife, Ruth, retired in 2006 they embarked on an adventure across the U.S. in their RV, hitting 47 of 50 states – seeing the sights, family and meeting many along the way.
Marvin was a warm and generous man in all facets. His greatest passion was spending time with family and friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. Often “cracking wise” and always seeing the lighter side of life, while helping those around him see it as well. He was outgoing and social – he never met a stranger, and was quick to make new acquaintances feel welcome. He had a knack and the know-how, and was always available to help those around him – anytime, anywhere. And of course, he had little fear – often comforting those with an “ahh, it’ll be fine.”
His hobbies were many - fishing, boating, golfing, camping, hunting, cards, traveling, working on his Corvair, spending time with family & friends, and sometimes crafting with his girls.
He was a man with a heart of gold, whose love and presence will live on forever in the hearts and minds of those who knew him.
