

Mary Colleen Skagen, 51, Port Orchard, died on Friday, January 13, 2012; surrounded by family and friends from a brain tumor. Mary was born Nov. 25, 1960 in Seattle. Mary's last job was at Humana as a medical records retrieval specialist. She had just finished her AA degree at the Univ. of Phoenix. Mary loved the outdoors, swimming was always her passion, and of course her best friend, her dog, Oscar!
Mary is survived by her mother, Shirley Skagen Llewellyn of Whidbey Island. Her two daughters Karen, (Ryan) Bizak of Bonney Lake and Kristi Cariveau of Renton. Her three grandchildren, Kaylee, Owen, Zoe, and soon; Colleen Faith. Three brothers, Greg Skagen of Renton, Doug and Sally Skagen of Marysville, and Mike and Theresa Skagen of Lake Tapps. Two sisters, Joe and Teresa Morrow of Bothel, and Rob and Joni Dahle of Salt Lake City. Her many nieces, and nephews, Shaina, Zach, Dena, Jackie, Chris, Stacie, Cale, Brooke, AJ, Alex, Abby, Jill, Janie, Jordan, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
Special friends to recognize are Rita Gamboa Boggs, Jody Ford Espeseth, Kelly Ramsey Bonomi, and so many other friends. She was preceded in rest by father, Jack Skagen, in 1979 and her brother, Brad Skagen, in 2002. Special thanks to Harmony Hill and their staff, St. Anthony's Hospital, Gig Harbor, and Group Health Home and Hospice for their professional and generous care of our sister. Celebration Of Life will take place at Emerald Downs, Auburn, on Saturday, January 21st, at 11:00 am.
