

Born and raised in Deming, Washington Mavis married Myrl Mattson Johnson (died 1999) of Ten Mile (a small berg north of Bellingham) in 1941. She had two children, her daughter and son in law, two grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. Her family was the most important thing in her life (followed closely by dancing and the Seahawks).
They moved to Renton at the end of WWII, established a business and raised their family. In 1954 she designed the their beloved house which they lived in for the rest of their lives.
She was proud to tell everyone that she had led a grand and wonderful life. She and her husband traveled the world. Beautiful dancers they belonged to the Allegria Dance Club for 50 years. Myrl collected antique cars and Mavis collected the clothes to go with the vintage of the cars.
They had a motor home and traveled all over the United States, Canada and Mexico, often with family or friends.
Until the very end she did the books and ran the office end of the family business. She still drove and lived independently.
She had many close friends, some of them lifelong.
She was an ardent fan of the Huskies and Cougars and of course, her beloved Seahawks.
She will be deeply missed by many, none more so than her family.
