Michael James Blodgett

Michael James Blodgett, 78, passed away on May 2, 2026 surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Kent, WA, graduated from St Anthony Catholic Elementary School, and was a member of the Renton High School class of 1966. Michael received his BA from the University of Washington and his Masters from Western Washington University. He began his teaching career at St Anthony Catholic Elementary School and then taught Math at Kirkland Junior High School for 32 years. During his time at KjH he was Math Dept Head, held positions in Lake Washington Education Association and WEA Sammamish Uniserve. He was also very active in the Newport Woods Community Club. Michael is survived by his wife Maureen, son Robert, daughter Christina, Grandsons Gabriel and Conrad, siblings Eloise (Stachowiak), David, Edward (Theresa), Mary Kudo, Patrick (Melody), Patricia Koehn, Cheri, sister-in-law Margaret Walkama, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Margaret Blodgett, his sister Elaine Swenson, nephew Andrew Stachowiak and in-laws Eino and Betty Walkama. Michael was a wonderful , loving man who enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, coworkers and neighbors. His smile, laughter, creativity and love of life will be incredibly missed. Memorial Mass will be at: St. Anthony Catholic Church 416 So. 4th St, Renton, WA at 11:00 AM preceded by the Rosary at 10:15am – 10:45am on June 18, 2026.
