

Michelle was born on January 11, 1970, the first born to Gerald W. Nickel and Vera M. Nickel in Renton Washington. She graduated from Liberty High School in 1988, then went onto graduate from Renton Technical College with an AA degree. She held jobs at Dairy Queen and Squak Mountain Greenhouse, among others. She grew up attending East Renton Church where she worked in the mission’s field with Child Evangelism Fellowship and Canon Beach Conference Center. She then began her career working at Seabird Electronics in Bellevue WA as a Technician where she worked until the complications from MD made her physically unable to continue working.
Michelle volunteered with Salmon Days where she enjoyed representing Issaquah in parades around WA state and eventually became a Salmbassador for several years. She found a loving and inviting church family at Taylor Creek Church in Maple Valley. Here she joined women’s bible studies and helped in the kitchen prepping and preparing meals for families attending Awanas.
Michelle is survived by her parents Gerald and Vera Nickel, brother Steve Nickel, sister Julie Fraser, nephew Eric Boissoneau, niece Amber Boissoneau, cousins Melissa Secord and Mitchell Nickel and additional aunts, uncles and cousins from around the US and Canada. The friends left behind that touched Michelle’s life were blessed to have known her are recognized as well.
Viewing will begin at 10:00 AM at Greenwood Memorial, in Renton, on March 18th, 2023 along with the graveside at 12:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will follow at Taylor Creek Church, 21110 244th Ave SE, Maple Valley, at 2:00 PM. Flowers are welcome or donations can be made to Taylor Creek Church in memory of Michelle as one of her final wishes.
