In his final days, Lucky was surrounded by the love of his family. While hospitalized a month earlier, he found joy in meeting his newborn cousin, Tessa, just one week old, through a video call — a moment that brought him comfort and happiness. On the evening before his passing, his mother, sister, and aunt CeCe remained at his side at the hospice facility. Sensing he needed reassurance, his mother lovingly told him not to worry about his sister or the family, and that it was okay to rest. Lucky passed peacefully the following morning at 2:50 a.m.
Lucky was a beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He touched the lives of many with his humor, warmth, and outgoing personality. True to his name, he was genuinely happy-go-lucky — cheerful, smiling easily, and able to brighten a room with his presence.
In his early twenties, Lucky attended Job Corps, where he earned his diploma and discovered his passion for working on cars. He later obtained his mechanic certification and spent the past decade doing what he loved. He took pride in repairing vehicles and helping others, and was known among friends and family as the person you could always call when something needed fixing. Outside of work, he enjoyed playing video games, collecting sneakers, and adding to his ever-growing collection of tools.
Lucky is survived by his loving mother, Mey Wang Saechao; his sister, Aysia Saechao; his grandfather, Yao Wang Saechao; and his grandmother, Fey Seng Saechao. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Nai Wang “Liz” Saechao and Dzuy Nguyen; Fam Wang “Jenny” Saechao; and CeCe Judy Saechao and Nat Tan. He leaves behind his cousins Isaiah Saechao, Isaac Nguyen, and baby Tessa Tan, along with many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Lucky’s kindness, laughter, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
