Patricia Ann Keys, 81, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2021. Pat or Patty as she was often called was born on June 27th 1939 in Bell, California, daughter of the late Thomas and Florence Casey. She grew up in southern California and finished her schooling while living in Norwalk, California.
It was around that time that a friend introduced her to a tall, handsome sailor by the name of Jim Keys, Jr. They Dated for a while and subsequently married on March 24, 1958. Shortly after their marriage, Jim was deployed to the far East while stationed on the USS Piedmont, a destroyer tender based in San Diego, California. In 1960 they were blessed with their first son, James Keys III. The following year they were blessed with a second son, Thomas. Later they decided to move to Jim's home area in Seattle, Washington. Over the next few years they added a third son, Timothy and then a daughter Vicki. That would complete their family. Pat spent most of her life as a homemaker. When her children were older, she spent many years working in the food preparation area at Valley Hospital in Renton, Washington.
Pat was a very proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Billy Keys, Jordan, Cassandra and Moliuila Lemafa. She was also grandma to many children from her extended Lemafa family. In her later years as her health decline, she was living in an extended care facility. She settled in quite well and was able to have some good times despite her declining health. About a year ago, Pat became very ill. She did have a little rebound and we were able to be blessed to have her for many more months. She was a very gentle, caring person whose family meant everything to her.
She is survived by her three sons, James "Butch" (Claudia), Tom (Heather), Tim and her daughter Vicki (Moliuila). Pat absolutely adored her son- in-law. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, many nephews and nieces, cousins, and her very loving sister, Sissy.
There is a visitation and viewing from 1PM-4PM followed by a service from 4PM-5PM at Greenwood Memorial Home in Renton, Washington. There is a time for reception and community following the service. The burial will take place on Friday, May 7 at 12:00 PM at Winlock Cemetery in Winlock, Washington where Patty will be laid to rest beside her loving husband, Jim.
