Po Yee "Bowie" Leung, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and faithful follower of Jesus Christ, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 22, 2026, at her home in Renton, Washington, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 48 years old.
Bowie was born on October 31, 1977, in Hong Kong to Wai Cheung Leung and Hin Ying Chan. She was a beloved daughter and sister, growing up alongside her older sister, Chung Man "Sherman," younger sister, Mei Yee "Vita," and younger brother, Lap Sing "Jack."
She earned a Master of Science in Marketing and enjoyed a fulfilling career of more than ten years in marketing and customer relations management. Yet those who knew Bowie best would agree that her most cherished roles were those of wife, mother, homemaker, and faithful servant of God.
In the summer of 2012, God brought Bowie and Kai Ki Mow together in Seattle. What began as a friendship quickly revealed a deeper connection rooted in their shared faith in Christ. During long conversations while exploring the Seattle area together, they spoke often of God's faithfulness, His leading, and His work in their lives.
After much prayer and seeking God's direction, they prayerfully committed to journey through life together on September 5, 2012. Their relationship began with prayer, and a shared love for the hymn "Path of Grace" became a meaningful reminder of God's providential hand in bringing them together. They were married on September 7, 2013, beginning a marriage rooted in Christ, sustained by grace, and marked by a steadfast desire to honor God in every season of life.
To Kai Ki, Bowie was his closest friend, trusted confidante, faithful sister in Christ, and greatest blessing from God. She possessed a precious combination of gentleness, wisdom, kindness, and unwavering faith. She listened with patience, encouraged with love, and consistently pointed those around her toward God's promises. Through every joy and every trial, she remained a steady source of strength and encouragement.
In November 2016, Bowie became a mother when their beloved son, Kyden Lok-Hymn Mow, was born. She embraced motherhood with wholehearted devotion and sacrificial love. As Kyden grew and was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, Bowie became his advocate, teacher, protector, encourager, and safe place. She celebrated every milestone, patiently walked alongside every challenge, and delighted in the unique person God wonderfully created him to be. Her love has forever shaped his life.
Above all else, Bowie was a woman of deep and abiding faith. She loved God's Word, trusted His promises, rested in His sovereign will, and found comfort in His grace and mercy. She often expressed gratitude for God's saving grace and found great assurance in His faithfulness. Her favorite passages of Scripture included James 1:2–4 and 12, Psalm 56:3, Romans 5:1–5, 2 Corinthians 5:6–9, 2 Corinthians 12:9, Acts 14:22 among many others. These were not merely verses she cherished; they were truths she lived.
In September 2022, Bowie began a courageous battle with cancer together with her loving husband and son as one family united in Christ. Throughout her journey, she demonstrated remarkable perseverance, hope, and trust in God. Though she faced significant physical suffering and countless challenges, she rarely complained. Instead, she met each obstacle with grace, courage, and determination.
After moments of disappointment or sorrow, she would faithfully rise again, place her trust in the Lord, and continue forward. Even in the midst of suffering, she remained hopeful, caring not only for herself but also for her husband, her son, and those around her. Her faith, courage, and steadfast hope became a testimony to countless people who witnessed her journey.
Many who worshiped alongside Bowie at Beacon Hill Church were encouraged simply by her presence. Even during difficult seasons of treatment, she continued to attend worship whenever possible. Again and again, people shared how inspired they were by her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and joyful hope. She became a living testimony that God's grace is sufficient, even in life's most difficult trials.
Those who knew Bowie will especially remember her beautiful smile. It reflected the joy, gentleness, and hope that radiated from her heart, and those closest to her knew that the source of all those qualities was her deep and unwavering faith in God. Whether she was greeting family, encouraging friends, thanking caregivers, or meeting someone for the first time, she welcomed others with warmth and grace. Even in her final days, when she had little strength left, visitors, family members, and nurses were often greeted by the same gentle smile that had become her signature throughout life.
In God's providence, the story of Bowie's marriage beautifully reflected the foundation upon which it was built. Their marriage, known affectionately to many friends and family as their "Path of Grace," remained a testimony to God's faithfulness from beginning to end. Her journey with Kai Ki began in prayer and, fourteen years later, ended with a prayer as he held her hand, sang to her, prayed with her, and entrusted her into the loving care of the Savior they both loved.
While her family grieves her absence deeply, they rejoice in the assurance that Bowie is now free from pain and suffering and dwelling in the presence of her Lord. Her faith has become sight, her hope fulfilled, and her joy made complete. Though her earthly journey was marked by both blessing and suffering, those who knew Bowie best will remember a life defined not by sickness, but by faithfulness.
Bowie is survived by her loving husband, Kai Ki Mow; her beloved son, Kyden Lok-Hymn Mow; her parents, Wai Cheung Leung and Hin Ying Chan; her sister, Chung Man "Sherman"; her sister, Mei Yee "Vita"; her brother, Lap Sing "Jack"; and many extended family members, dear friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ who were blessed by her life and testimony.
In accordance with Bowie's wishes, a GoFundMe page has been established to support Kai Ki and Kyden as they navigate the road ahead. Those who wish to honor Bowie's memory may do so through this link: https://gofund.me/bf20443c2
