Renato was born on May 19, 1953, in Santa Maria Ilocos Sur, Philippines, where he spent his formative years. He went on to attend St. Mary’s College in Santa Maria Ilocos Sur, where he received a bachelor of science in education. In 1977, he married his loving wife Emelda and arrived in the United States. He worked at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Washington for 43 years where he retired as a Facility Engineer. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.
Renato is preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Velasco Cabrera Sr, his mother Lucia Jacob Cabrera, and brother Manolo Jacob Brillantes. He is survived by his loving wife, Emelda; their three children, Christopher, Curtis, and RJ; siblings Teresita Cabrera Agatep, Virginia Cabrera Arreola, Benjamin Jacob Cabrera Jr (Nenita); and numerous nieces and nephews. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
