He joined the Navy Reserves after high school and then went on to work at Boeing for over 40 years.
In 1963, Robert married Julie, the love of his life. He was a loving, attentive husband until she passed in 2008.
He loved nothing more in life than to be with his grandsons, Wade and Jay and (more recently) his great granddaughter Wrenley.
Robert was quite proud of his property in Westport. He did a lot of clam digging and fishing in his time! He’d travel there every chance he could to work around the yard and of course, enjoy a cold beer as he burned as much wood as possible in the fire pit. Burning in that pit was another source of great joy for him! We will all miss the sound of his oversized dice rolling across the table during one of our dice games. A common occurrence on family trips to the beach.
Back at his trailer in Federal Way, he spent all his time walking the trailer park and working in the yard. Well, except for when he volunteered at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. He did that for many many years after his wife Julie passed away.
Robert is survived by his daughter Kim, son and daughter-in-law Craig and Nikki; grandsons Wade and Jay; their wives McKenna and Natalie; great granddaughter Wrenley (Wade & McKenna's girl); and his sister, Donna Dana in California.
There is so many extended family he kinda lost track of, but they too were a true source of joy during all those holiday gatherings.
Without a doubt, everyone he called family was of great importance throughout his whole life.
We will miss Dad, Pa, Gramps, Bob with all our hearts.
