She was born May 14, 1946, in San Diego California to the late Harlow W. Lay and Anna Mae Jewell.
Sharon was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Melvin Bud Hagen, her beloved sons, Douglas R. Barnes, Glen A. Barnes, and her sister Karron Diane Browning.
Sharon is survived by her Stepchildren Doug Hagen (Phyllis), Karla Nolen (Michael) and their families. Daughter-in-law Amy Barnes (Doug), Aunt Patricia Jewell, and so many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
To know Sharon was to love her. She was spunky, honest, a quick thinker, compassionate, kind, generous, hardworking, service oriented, friendly, courageous, and loved with her whole heart. She loved her, Bunco Friends, Dominos Friends, Weight Watcher’s friends, good friends she had known for 40 years, and her dear friends at the Chestnut Café in Kent, WA. She loved her nieces and nephews, her stepchildren and their families, her neighbors, her Financial Adviser, the UPS guy, and chatting with her cousin Deb. She was especially excited when Doug married Amy, she brought into Sharons life and heart, 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Sharon loved the color green, puzzles and playing games, going out to lunch, animals, especially cats, reading the newspaper, traveling, and drinking her coffee with cream. She made a mean potato salad and was well known for her Mounds Bars and Carrot Cake. Her favorite quote was “Let Go and Let God” and despite her situation she lived by that motto daily.
Sharon, we will miss you, but we are so happy you are back together with Bud and your 2 boys. Thank you for your example of courage and sharing your love and life with us all.
Till We Meet Again!
