

Sherman Willis Jr. was born to Leoda and Sherman Willis Sr. on April 13th, 1954, in Seattle, Washington. Sherman grew up in the Central District, where he enjoyed biking to Lake Washington and playing with neighborhood friends. These formative years were filled with cherished memories and a strong sense of community.
In 1972, Sherman graduated from Garfield High School. He later began a long and successful career with King County Metro Power Distribution. Over his 42-year tenure, Sherman built many lifelong friendships and became a respected and valued member of his workplace.
Sherman and his wife, Valerie, planted their roots in Newcastle, Washington, in 1988 with the purchase of their home where they later married on August 11th, 1990. Their family grew with the arrival of their son, Brandon Sherman Willis, on December 29th, 1991, followed by the birth of their daughter, Brittni Lee Willis, on August 7th, 1995.
Sherman passed away on November 11th, 2025, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Valerie; son, Brandon; daughter, Brittni; future son-in-law, Jabriel Washington; his two sisters, Ruby Janice Willis and Imogene (Jean) Willis and brother & sister-in-law, Gregory & Tiffany Wilford. Sherman also leaves behind many relatives and friends.
Those who knew Sherman will remember him for his big heart, gregarious personality, infectious smile, and the joy he brought to all his family and friends. His love for jazz music, cars, food, and summers spent flying kites on the beach at Seaside, Oregon, will continue to bring smiles to the faces of those who loved him.
