As a young adult she worked as a seamstress. In 1939, she married the love of her life, Jose, and together they raised eight children: Flordeliz (Flor), Jose Jr. (Jun), Arturo (Arthur), Maria Bernadita (Dita), Maria Lourdes (Odette), Maria Theresa (Tess), Roberto (Bobby), and Maria Victoria (Beck).
In 1975, Socorro moved to Seattle, WA, where she and her family built a life in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. Her career included roles as kitchen staff in a restaurant, a housekeeper at Providence, and a part-time nanny. She retired at the age of 62. Deeply rooted in her faith, Socorro dedicated much of her time to church activities and praying the rosary at home. She cherished reading and loved being surrounded by her ever-growing family and good friends. Known for her thoughtfulness, kindness, and generosity, she lived a vibrant life for 103 years.
Socorro passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025 in Renton, WA and is survived by six of her children: Arthur, Dita, Odette, Tess, Bobby, and Beck, along with 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
On behalf of the family, we are deeply grateful for your love, support, and presence during this difficult time. Thank you for celebrating the life of our dear "Mama." God bless you.
