Tinh Ngoc Tran
May 2, 1927 – October 4, 2020
On Sunday evening, October 4, 2020, Tran Ngoc Tinh, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away at the age of 93. She was surrounded by family and in the peace and comfort of her own home.
Tran Ngoc Tinh was born in Bac Ninh province, Vietnam on May 2, 1927. In 1946, she married Ly Minh from Guangzhou, China, and together they raised 10 children. In 1965, her husband and son Tun both tragically passed away together at the ages of 39 and 15, respectively. Moving past the tragedy, Tinh single-handedly and resourcefully raised her children in war-torn Vietnam, witnessing the fall of Saigon in 1975 and enduring the hardships that followed.
In 1980, she gathered her family and took to the open seas, risking everything in search of a better future and way of life. This led the family to a Malaysian refugee camp, and shortly thereafter to America where she would reside in Seattle, Washington for the past 40 years. In this time, she has witnessed her family’s prosperity and has continued to be a pillar for which her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren have relied upon.
Tinh leaves behind 6 remaining children, 25 grand-children, 10 great-grandchildren that miss her dearly, who celebrate her life and love, and who will never forget the sacrifices she has made.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.greenwoodmempark.com for the Tran family.
