Van Ma, 96, passed away at 10:20am on Tuesday June 21, 2016 (May 17th, 2016 lunar calendar) at her home in Seattle. Van Ma, the daughter of Ma June and Au Chu Lan, was born on January 16, 1923 (lunar calendar) in Canton China. She was married to her deeply loved husband Yip Ma Ngoc in 1943. She had lived in China, Vietnam, and Taiwan before she moved with her family to Seattle in 1979 and had lived here ever since.
Her proudest accomplishment in life was that she was surrounded by her loving family. All her children always paid their respects to her and loved her deeply. Her greatest legacy was her seven (7) children, twenty two (22) grandchildren, and twelve (12) great grandchildren. She loved all her children unconditionally and was always proud of them.
