Ms. Yu Xin was born in China on March 21, 1966. She immigrated to San Francisco in 1984 and lived there for seven years. Li and Mr. Qi Song Zhao were married in 1991 and moved to Seattle the same year. She found a job in Safeway and worked for the same company for more than 20 years. Li is survived by her husband, older daughter Liane who is at the present time attending University of Washington, and younger daughter Karen, who is still attending high school.
During all those years as an employee in Safeway, Li had always been known as a very diligent and conscientious worker who would unconditionally help others, especially those who were newly hired. She was a person who would only think of 'giving' but not 'taking' when working with her colleagues. Even when she was receiving chemotherapy treatment, Li refused to stop working for Safeway, which reflected her undeniable dedication and loyalty.
At home, Li was a most loving wife to her husband and caring mom to her two daughters. As much as she had shown her unreserved love to her own family, Li was also and exceptionally good daughter to her own parents. She was often take a short breather and go back to San Francisco to visit with them and make sure they were in good health.
To her friends and coworkers, Li was a very cheerful woman who loved to play Mahjong and sing Karaoke, especially Chinese opera songs in her spare time. She would generously invite them over to her home and cook for them once in a while. Li will be sorely missed and her passing will certainly leave a void in everyone's heart that can never be filled.
Li's family hereby extends their utmost gratitude from the bottom of their hearts to all who have supported Li and her family financially and spiritually over all these years, especially to their immediate relatives on both sides of the family. Heartfelt thanks are also given to all her Safeway colleagues who went out of their way to help Li in various ways during her fight with sickness.
Thank you, all of you, who come to say goodbye to Li.
