Elaine M. Dahlvig

Elaine M. Dahlvig, age 93, of Rhinelander, died, Saturday October 26, 2013 at Country Terrace assisted living surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 23, 1920 to Edward and Esther (Podewiltz) Ruel, in St. Paul, Minnesota. She moved to Tomahawk, where she graduated high school in 1938. In 1946 she moved to Rhinelander, and has been a lifelong resident of the community. She was a member of the Eastern Star Mabel Chapter #181, and a member of First United Methodist Church, and Ruth Circle United Methodist Woman.

Elaine is survived by her children Carol Hunter of Rhinelander, Richard (Fran) Akey of Navarre Florida, Susan (John) Nys of Burlington, Lester Schreiber of Antigo, Gerald (Chrissy) Schreiber of Rhinelander, Step Children Alan (Norma) Dahlvig of San Diego California, Donald (Roberta) Dahlvig of Cheshire Oregon, Ronald (Cherri) Dahlvig of Rhinelander, Jolene (Thomas) Ross of Irma, and Darla (George) Witz of Mosinee, also numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, step great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Elaine was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Schreiber, her second husband Dell Dahlvig her parents, sister Jean Lanham and Barbara, and son Terrance (Mary) Akey.

An Eastern Star service will be Friday, November 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place at Northland Memorial Park following the service. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home, 715-365-4343 is assisting the family with arrangements.
