Francis Robert Petta

Francis R. Petta, age 92, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Taylor Park Nursing Home under the care of hospice and his granddaughter by his side. He was born December 12, 1920 to Alex and Mary (Belanger) Petta in Ashland, Wisconsin. Francis served in US Army during World War II. He worked for Rhinelander Paper Company for many years, retiring in 1984. Francis enjoyed bowling, hunting, golfing and ice fishing.

Francis is survived by his son, Francis E. (Cynthia) of New Berlin, Wisconsin, his grandchildren; Andrea (Kurt) Metz and Steve Petta both of Rhinelander, two great granddaughters, Halle and Lilli Petta and a great great granddaughter, Audrina.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille and his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 19, 2013 at 11:30am at Nativity of Our Lord ~ St. Joseph’s Site with Father Tom Thakadipuram officiating. Visitation will be 10:30am until the time of service at church. Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home, 715-365-4343 is assisting the family with arrangements.
